Encyclopedia Britannica
Atlas for Elementary Students provided by Badgerlink. 

Fact Monster
Reference site that includes an almanac, encyclopedia, and dictionary. The United States section provides maps, important documents in history, and information about cities and states, population, government structure, and even different laws and timelines of U.S. history. The World section covers countries of the world, current events, world history, natural disasters, wars, geography, and different religions. Smithsonian Education
Student version of Smithsonian Institution site.  Has fair amount of reading and limited illustrations.  Includes rotating selection of online exhibits including profiles of American presidents and space exploration.

World Book Online
Online reference center.  Includes an atlas and encyclopedia.  There is also a special section (explore top tab) on Wisconsin.
