The NCS 4th and 5th graders were able to gain an environmental appreciation of a local resource, the Sugar River, through canoeing recently. While gaining their environmental appreciation, they sure did have a lot of fun and so did the parent chaperones and staff who went with them! This second annual Sugar River Canoe Trip was in conjunction with the Upper Sugar River Watershed Association who made it possible by donating nine canoes, a trailer, and their time. We extend many thanks to them and also to Capital Water Trails and the staff at Rutabaga Canoe Store!
