Our NCS Greatness Ambassadors Have Been Active In Great Gratitude Projects

This year at NCS, our focus is GRATITUDE.
Being grateful is when you are thankful for all of the things you have because there is always something to be thankful for!

In September, the Greatness Ambassadors led NCS students in sharing this appreciation by giving to others in need in several ways.  Here is an update on the great impact we were able to make as a school community:
coats
1)  KOATS FOR KIDS: We collected many bags of winter clothing thanks to our students! Several GA’s used wagons to walk the winter gear to Klinke Cleaners, which was a drop off point for the fundraiser that would distribute the coats to local families.

2)  HURRICANE  IRMA: NCS collected $92.26 for the people living on the US Virgin Islands and $76.19 for the South Florida Wildlife Center. The donations will help people, animals, and the environment.

sock drive

In October, the GA's led us in our SOCKTOBER SOCK DRIVE:

Did you know that socks are one of the least donated items for people in need? NCS helped people who have less by bringing in pairs of socks to donate to the Badger Prairie Needs Network.  The collection ended on October 31st with a bin full of socks!  Many thanks to Erik Betz and his family for delivering all of those socks to the Badger Prairie Needs Network!

To celebrate our generosity, we had fun with SILLY sock day on Tuesday, October 31st!!

For October, the Greatness Ambassadors had two other opportunities for students to help show gratefulness:

penny drive

1)  HURRICANE MARIA:  We are still collecting coins for the people living in Puerto Rico. There is a jar in the office. Let’s overflow that jar too!

2)  GRATITUDE JAR:  We have so much to be GRATEful for in our lives. Check out the NCS Gratitude Jar bulletin board full of gratitude slips. Each month, students take time to fill out a GRATEful slip and put it in the Gratitude Jar.  The slips and jar are in the office. At every Community Gathering, we will pull out 4 slips to be read out loud. Those 4 students will be invited to a GREATNess lunch with Mrs. Klawiter and 4 GAs.

Remember to start each day with a

GRATEFUL heart!
