Students in the 4/5 classrooms are gathering data about drag - how does the size and material of the canopy affect the rate of the parachute drop? How do suspension lines affect the speed? These questions will lead the students to create their own parachute that will have to land on an atmosphere thinner than Earth...how is drag affected by a thinner atmosphere? How will you stay within the criteria and constraints of the problem to solve it? This unit is wrapping up our studies of space. We look forward to seeing their designs next week!
