Ms. Klawiter's 2/3 class participates in H2O For Life!

Ms. Klawiter's 2/3 class is participating in a project called H2O for Life. H2O For Life is a service learning program designed to engage, educate, and inspire youth to become global citizens. Activities around the concept of water have encouraged the students to wonder more about why not everyone has access to fresh water. Through the program, they are learning about the global water crisis and how to help others.
The Klawiter Kids chose Mawira Primary School in Mozambique, Africa as their focus project. Mawira Primary School is trying to raise money to put in a deep bore hole well, a toilet block, and to implement a hygiene education program.
We need your help to meet our pledge goal. Click on the link below to make an online donation or there is a jar located in the office for cash donations.

After listening to the story The Water Princess, the Klawiter Kids were wondering how far away the nearest drinking fountain was to their classroom. Using yarn and a yard stick, they found out they are between 94-104 yards, depending on which stairwell you took, from water... a much closer distance than Gie Gie, The Water Princess, who had to travel all day for fresh, clean water.
