NCS 4th and 5th graders dissected real cows' eyes!

Today the 4th and 5th grade students got a hands-on experience in knowing the parts and functions of the eye!  With the help of Veterinary Medicine professor Chuck Hendrickson, students were led on a journey of exploration through dissecting a real cow’s eye!
The 4/5s have been studying the senses and how our senses send messages to the brain, so finding the optic nerve today was pretty powerful!   Students located the retina, lens, cornea, vitreous humor, aqueous humor and other structures of the cow’s eye.  It was loud and noisy, but full of excitement and wonder!
